I work mostly, but not completely, in Porcelain casting slip. I use up to four different clays depending on the piece. I colour the clay using oxides and commercial pigments.

I love working with porcelain.  It is difficult and my failure rate is high but with porcelain it is possible to make a beautiful piece almost without doing anything. I like the translucency, the whiteness and the colour response. 

My work fits into either the almost functional category or the completely useless category   The inside of the useable pieces are glazed and all unglazed surfaces are polished.   

I live in a rural area and have no trouble renewing inspiration in the nearby areas. 

Most pieces are constructed from slabs.  A lot of work is done laminating coloured slips on a plaster slab before any construction is started.  Almost all of my work is made of very thin material.
